We're finally all caught up on Flash. Here are some of my thoughts. I'm hoping and assuming that since the finale aired on May 23 that anyone who was going to watch it (and happens to be reading this) has already done so and that spoilers are ok.
- I'm really sad about the character who got killed off, and it looks pretty final; I don't think he's going to get a resurrection. (This is what I get for always complaining about people coming back to life! The one who I honestly liked best this season is gone for good). He added such a sense of fun and goofiness to the show.
- Caitlin. I don't get it, I don't get what the writers have done to her. Barry got powers and he didn't become evil. Wally got powers and he didn't become evil, ditto Cisco. I sincerely might've missed the explanation, but why exactly does Powerful Caitlin equal Evil Caitlin? I have no great love for Caitlin but I really hope she didn't get this kind of treatment from the writers because she's a woman. There've been other powerful women on the show - like Jessie Quick and Gypsy - but they're not in most episodes. Look around at Team Flash in most episodes and it really is a boys' club with an exception here or there. Cait's whole story arc has left a really bad taste in my mouth.
- I am glad that our hero gets his love interest and they didn't keep on playing out the dynamics from season 1 when she didn't know he was Flash and they weren't going to be together.
- Overall? I love Barry, it's a good show, but I thought Season 1 was better than S2 or S3.
