Leaving isn't the hardest thing sounds like so much. Oh my gosh. And I think that's a great point about poverty. Who has the energy to do anything else when you're just trying to freakin survive, and people think nothing of blaming you for your circumstances. I also think it's one of those things where people who do get out of it sometimes are even worse about shitting on people still in it. I also hate hate hate the way people now like to turn helping those less fortunate into clicks by helping someone who needs help and then make videos and post them online. Just, so gross.

Too bad platonic isn't that compelling, but I definitely am so grateful for my friendships, especially with you! I love having a group of friends that I care about and enjoy spending time with, and I'm thankful that I have lovely people who choose to be my friend too.

It's definitely disheartening that so many things are so terrible and there's not that much we as individuals can do that will be really effective moving the needle. And so much misinformation continues to be shared like it's a fact because it fits the narrative that people want. I didn't know about the change in the stand your ground law, it's like they just want to dig their heels in and be able to justify whatever horrible thing they want to do. I do believe that - in time - things will get better, but it's SUCH a long, slow road.
