1. Friends - Are you more comfortable with casual acquaintances you've known for a long time or new people you share a specific connection with?

Wow, that’s a good question and one that requires some reflecting on. Of course my first thought was to blend the two – I’m most comfortable with people who I have a connection with and who I’ve known a long time. But since that wasn’t one of the options, I might lean towards casual acquaintances I’ve known for a long time. For some reason (I’m really boring perhaps?) I like familiarity.

2. Sex - If you could repeat your entire life from age 5 on, with all your knowledge and experience intact and usable, would you lose your virginity earlier or later?

I’d say no change here. It was fine the way it was.

3. Music - What's the best concert you've ever seen?

I’ve been a B-52’s fanatic since I was 16 years old, and the first time I saw them – in 1989 – really blew me away. I was just awed. It was so weird for me to see them live after watching their videos and listening to their music so much. (I’m like, “They exist! In real life and not just on the TV!”)

4. Drugs - Describe your first real hangover, if you've had one.

I hardly ever drink now and have never done drugs. But I was hungover, just once. In college, two of my friends (Margaret and Natalie) and I decided to get drunk, just to experience it. We were all drinking virgins. We approached our drinking orgy in a very cautious and well-planned manner; we arranged to sleep in Natalie’s dorm room so none of us would have to drive drunk. We even planned it on a night when Natalie’s roommate wasn’t there so there’d be another bed. So we drank and drank, Margaret threw up, at some point I landed on Natalie’s bed and slept really well. I had a headache the next day and pondered whether it was really all worth it.

5. Love - Do you believe in love at first sight?

I’m lean in the direction of saying no

6. Livejournal - How many times a day do you check your comments?

More times than I care to admit. And now that I’m on sabbatical, it’s even worse. I need a life.

Your answer to 2 is really interesting. I admit I hijacked that question from Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto by Chuck Klosterman. Most of the women I've asked have said later and most of the men have said earlier. But you're right there. Cana's right-- you are just like Zoe.

That's very interesting! Perhaps society needs more older women-younger men combinations? (But then again, if men do mature later than women, maybe that's not a good idea. Maybe our bodies and our minds just aren't in synch).
