Next wedding question

If you received an invitation to a lesbian wedding and the dress code was "Semi formal optional" would you understand that this means, "Dress as formally as you like, though you can go casual if you prefer?"

I hear casual and I always think "jeans". But if it's a wedding then I guess I'll dress up a little. And by a little I mean maybe I'll wear a skirt or dress.

but you didn't say "casual" so ... Semi formal = a skirt.

Ok, cool. Basically I want people to be both comfortable and dressed, well, as formally as they want to.
