Oh wow - civil union bill!!

In my home state, Illinois, the state Senate just passed a Civil Unions bill! The house passed it yesterday. It now goes to our Democratic governor who has promised to sign it.

Last night I got an email from an activist group that said to call your Senator to urge them to vote for it, and I did so this morning. And as the activist group said in their follow-up email just now, this is a historic moment.
