Yeah, on the ASL. I considered putting a remark in the fic about how hard it'd be for them to learn it and that they're smart. I figure that if they can learn to operate a submarine, they are pretty smart cookies and could learn ASL too. Especially since once they left Shaw, they didn't have too much else to do all day.
