Sound on computer

What would you do if there was no longer any sound on your computer? And you'd checked to make sure that the volume was up and not muted, and that your speaker is plugged in and even has the green light on it that indicates it's working?

have you tried plugging in headphones to see if you can still hear sound that way?

Oooh, great idea! I tried it. I can hear sound. So must mean the speakers are busted, huh?

most likely broken speakers. could be a cord gone bad (or maybe kitty-chewed?) if you want to be sure, hook them up to another machine and see if you hear sound (or if you have speakers from another machine around, hook them up to yours and see if that works).
