What would've been totally plausible, in my book, is for Shaw to have required that they sleep together in order to breed powerful mutants. But given that he dies before she joins the team, that isn't going to work. Hmmmm...An AU where Sinister somehow takes over the Brotherhood and requires Brotherhood members to make little mutants? (While Erik was out on vacation)? :)
