Enjoying the new job. There is a TON to learn and occasionally I feel overwhelmed but mostly I am feeling exhilarated by getting to do something new. The work responsibilities are pretty cool too.

My coworkers from my former team took me out to dinner today and gave me a necklace and earrings. I thought that was so incredibly sweet.

That's about it for now. No adoption news. The birth mother is due the 14th which means the phone might ring any time now. This is quite an exciting time!

i'm glad you're enjoying it! it's always overwhelming when you start something new, but a few months from now you'll be feeling confident about it (when i started here, my boss flat out told me that it takes 6 months to really feel comfortable in a new job and so she was going to have relaxed expectations of me until then, which helped me feel way less stressed out). I love that your coworkers from your former team took you out and got you a gift, that's so very sweet. will you have any work-related interaction with them anymore? How about with your former boss?

The 6 month thing makes a lot of sense.

I won't have a ton of interaction with my old team, but I won't be far from them (just on another wing in the same floor...well, until/unless I move to Training & Development), but I will make opportunities to go see them.

No baby news yet but I'll keep you posted.
