Drag Race finale

My close friend D is able to come to the Drag Race finale in NY with me in 2 weeks. I am SO happy. Flights are booked, hotel reservation is made, and it is very sweet of D to come with me because she knows her way around NYC.

Now we have to figure out what to wear. D asked me to re-watch the finale of last season and observe what the non-queens were wearing. This is a task I am very happy to accomplish because I get to see one of my favorite queens get crowned again. So my mission this weekend is to watch it and report back.

Regardless of what I see when I re-watch, I am leaning towards a very simple "little black dress". I also have a spring coat that I got for $10 at a resale shop and that I always get compliments on. It looks good over the dress too. So I am heavily leaning that way. If I get inspired, I will post a pic.

I think I am still in a happy state of awe that I am going!

You know, your opinion is shared by many, many fans. Now me, I love the way they did it in Season 4. I re-watched the other 3 seasons and I feel that it's such a let-down to crown a queen with no one in the room other than Ru and the judges and the runner-up. I liked that it was a big show and they made a big deal of it and had an *event* on stage. But your view is shared by a lot of other fans I talk with.

Is it that you miss the intimacy of how they did it in seasons 1-3?
