Our city picks up the garbage from these huge bins that are in the alley behind our house. So we dump our garbage directly in there. If we have anything that is smelly, we dump it right away instead of leaving it in our indoor garbage pail, but since we compose our food scraps, we don't have that much smelly stuff.

Yay on the canvas bags! I wish the US would follow Asia's lead. It's just crazy to be at a Target and see plastic bag after plastic bag being used.
