Sorry you didn't love The Book of M, I enjoyed it a lot. I did have a hard time with the concept of them changing reality, but overall I enjoyed it. Did you listen to it or read it? I thought the voice actors on the audiobook helped me like it more.

On phone banking... I am sincerely surprised at how many people will answer the phone when they don't know who is calling. Or call back a number just because they got a call from that number. If I don't know a phone number, I almost never answer it. If they don't leave a message, I'll usually block the number. Of course, I also won't usually answer the door if I'm not expecting someone/don't recognize the person. Anyway, I think these are good ideas, and the small donations definitely make sense - I suspect even if you just donate $10, you're going to feel more invested in the success of the candidate, ya know? Interesting about "the annoying"! Also, I bet volunteers feel better about volunteering and more important if you give them real work to do as opposed to trying to find some busywork to keep them occupied.
