Hope you like hot weather (really hot weather)
We’re so screwed. Here’s a new article on global warming.. In case the link is no longer there when you click it, basically polar bears are drowning as Arctic glaciers recede. Arctic sea ice is receding at an alarming pace, scientists are pretty certain that global warming is behind it. “…the shrinking ice should be a wake-up call for governments to cut emissions of greenhouse gases, mainly from power plants, factories and cars that most scientists say are causing global warming.” And yet the situation just gets worse every year.
“Polar bears were finding it harder to find food, threatening their ability to reproduce,” the article reads. But what do we care, as long as we can drive our SUVs and run our power plants?
The saddest thing is that alternatives do exist (more fuel-efficient cars, natural sources of energy like the sun and wind) but the money is behind the harmful methods we currently use, and so the problems just get worse all the time. I shudder to think what this planet's going to be like when I'm 90.
