Go in with a list of concerns you have about your performance, what you think may be causing them, and a few strategies for improving and then get his or her opinion on some other strategies or ways to cope? I wonder about burnout, too, or how achievement just seems to snowball. You know you do well, so you feel pressure to do better, and then when one thing goes wrong, things start to topple a bit. This happens to me some and I had a 10 period recently where I just could not get anything right. I even failed to prep a class and had to cancel it 30 minutes before start time! I scheduled the meeting and talked about some of the trouble I was having and my boss was understanding and we worked together on strategizing my way out of it.
