1. Had an all-day meeting at work today and...it was great! I made good contributions to it (which I think my boss noticed)

2. And despite leaving later than usual, the el was not that crowded

3. The cat was extra-affectionate yesterday when I worked from home. So I gave her extra treats.

Congrats on a successful meeting!! I think it always feels so good when you're able to contribute AND that contribution is noticed :D

Also, how crowded is the el usually? Can you usually get a seat? Are you squished in like a sardine?

If I get on the el before 7:15am (or in the afternoon, before 4:30pm) I can usually get a seat. But the seats are just too small for many, many people. So often you're squished inbetween 2 people and you can't even move your arms enough to, say, get your phone out of your purse. (Which can be fine; I look at my phone enough and sometimes I use the el ride to just silently count my breathing).

Don't get me stared on bad etiquette like people putting their belongings on the seat next to them. Or the guy who literally took up THREE seats with his belongings.

Yeah, like I get that folks don't want other people squished up against them, but come on, dude, you think it's fine making all these people just stand? Sometimes it takes my breath away how selfish most people are.
