3 Things
1. No spoilers, but Season 6, episode 1 of Agents of SHIELD aired yesterday and I am on board! I was wondering whether I'd get back into fangirl mode when SHIELD restarted, or if I'd react more how I did to season 2 of Star Trek Discovery (which I loved, but the fangirl madness did not return).
2. And hey, the weekend is here! We're taking Doris's mom out tonight (Saturday) for Mother's Day instead of tomorrow, which should mean that Doris and I actually get all of tomorrow together.
3. Weirdly I felt on Wednesday and Thursday that I might be coming down with something. But I'm fine today. Guess that went away fast.

How was your mother's day?

Mother's day was alright. Went with my family to breakfast in the morning and that went pretty well. Ran a couple errands in the afternoon and planted some plants in our garden. Then dinner with his family (well, his sister and brother in law and niece and mom) at 4. Rollin's mom's favorite restaurant of all time is Outback and I am really not a fan. I've never had anything there that I particularly enjoyed, and it's not like their dishes are complicated, it should be hard to screw up. But whatever. The thing I really hate is that we always go there for special occasions with his family and it always ends up that there's 6 of us and they jam us into a booth and there's nowhere near enough room. I end up on one side squished between Rollin and his mom and there is nowhere near enough room for us. Rollin's sister, brother in law and niece are all tall and skinny so they seem fine on their side. Rollin agreed and said next time we'll ask for a table, though I'm sure for special occasions it's trickier to get a table due to space limitations and all that. I was hoping his brother would be there and then there would be too many of us to shove into a booth (theoretically). Anyway. Other than that, things were fine.

LOL about the Outback "it's not like their dishes are complicated". I feel the same way about the place where Poised for Success's fundraiser is. (Lasagna. Bread, cheese, and tomatoes. It should taste really really good and be hard to mess up. Why did their lasagna always suck???)
I hope you do assert yourself - and Rollin asserts himself too - on the booth issue. Booths suck! And you shouldn't have to sit through a dinner uncomfortable. I think it is 100% reasonable to ask that you get a table even if that means you have to make a reservation or go somewhere else.

If we took his mom to outback for her birthday or something when it wasn't a crazy madhouse everywhere, I would definitely ask for a table. As it was, we had reservations and still had to wait a bit, and I was pretty sure we'd have to wait way too long for a table. Outback is one of those places where I try different dishes because I feel like there has to be something that I like enough to order more than once, but that has not proven true yet.
