3 Things

1. Com Ed has this thing where they ask you to reduce your energy usage on a specific date and time (say, Monday, from 1pm-6pm). And if you use less than you typically use, you get a refund. We've done that twice recently and both times got a nice refund. The main thing I did was turn the temperature up (so we'd use less air conditioning)

2. Speaking of air conditioning, it's hot as hell - and the next 3 days are supposed to be terrible. I guess I am very lucky that I had last Friday off and was able to take my trip to Andersonville that day. It was in the 70s and it's looking like that was the last day for a while with good weather....

3. Nothing else is grabbing me, so I'll be glad for Doris!

I am interested in doing the reducing the energy usage on a date/time, but because we only have a window unit, we can't just adjust the temp. Maybe later in the year we can do it, though whenever we get the letter from ComEd about our usage as compared with our neighbors, we always come in as lower than our neighbors.

I am for sure dreading this horrible heat. It's terrible. Especially since now it sounds like I'm going to be spending a large chunk of Sunday outdoors. Ugh.
