One piece of good news

Lots of horrible stuff going on now, but I still want to post that Marie Newman, the candidate who I've been volunteering for, won her primary!!

So that's great news. She defeated an anti-choice, anti-LGBT, anti-human rights guy, and now she will go on to the general election in November (where she will almost certainly win because her district tends to vote Democratic).

Excellent! I'm hearing the election is not going to be postponed as well, so that's additional good news!

Oh, and I don't know if you have this option in your state, but I found out last month that Virginia has an "emergency absentee ballot" specifically for people who are unexpectedly hospitalized. Hope it doesn't come to that, but it's worth researching I think!

Right! And I was thinking about how dire the COVID situation is right now....but at least IL has a good governor and Chicago has a good mayor. Our federal leadership is terrible but at least things are better locally. That's got to help.
