Gratitude, stuff, etc
- We had at least one or two days within the past 7 where humidity was low and we could take walks and have windows open
- The climate bill went through!! (Sorry, Ann, for being on the phone during our Scrabble game Sunday, constantly checking)
- Got a cookbook from the library. Lots of fancy recipes, probably not going to make any. Then there is one for a tomato sandwich. Simple. Fresh, home grown or local tomato, toasted bread of your choice, (vegan) mayo, tajine (can substitute with salt and lime), and then optionals like spring onion and fresh herbs. Absolutely fantastic.
- I know periodically I post words to this effect: I am shocked and happy that I often can style my own hair and it often (but not always) looks good when I do so!
One sad thing, and then fandom stuff:
- So that convention that Sachin's no longer going to? Looks like it's coming up soon and I see social media posts and I feel sad and wish it were happening, with Sachin and without jerks. But hey: 1) I had no control over whatever it is that happened, 2) I wouldn't want to be there with a contingent of people who don't like him, and he wouldn't want to be there either, 3) I got my refund and there will be other cons someday, hopefully. Also, funny note? They just announced that the actor who played Finn will be there. Finn, a character who no one liked and who died in S2. <smile>
- Onto my latest obsession with Felix Gaeta (the character in BSG)/Sinclair (the character in T100)/Alessandro Juliani (the actor who portrayed them). I am combing through old Reddit posts that mention Sinclair, and it's good to see that: 1) Tons of people have always loved Sinclair; he was easily one of the most popular side characters on the show, and 2) My comments from 2 years ago show that I always loved him too. Best recent post? "Sinclair is daddy", with 87 upvotes. No, I am not the OP on that one.
- My fic is going really well too. My friend P said on Saturday that she'd beta it, and she messaged back a few hours later to say she was so excited at the tags, at seeing that Sinclair would get a love interest! Alas, she has not yet done the beta but I love her enthusiasm, and I am continuing to write a lot.
- The only person so far who has commented on my fic is my fandom friend Mia, which is no surprise. But....something kinda nice happened just now? I had commented yesterday on someone else's fic that features Sinclair, and the author wrote back to say thanks and that they read mine and are eagerly awaiting more. (And yep, I can only shake my head and wonder why in the hell they didn't leave a comment.)
And reminder, when your BFF has been telling you for years to watch a show, THEN WATCH THE SHOW!! (What were all the excuses I had? "It's old." "It prolly has no fandom." "I don't wanna." Shaking head.)

Hilarious that there's tons of fancy recipes and you're excited about the tomato sandwich (I think you're just looking for more things to put tajine on lol). Actually at Jewel we were in the section with pre-packaged fruits and veggies and they were selling packets of tajine there! Is it becoming popular?
Totally get what a bummer it is that you're not going to get to go to the convention, see Sachin, etc. It sucks, and the people who basically ran him off also totally suck. If they're jerks like that, maybe even if they hadn't run him off like that, they would have been mean to him and made the con way less fun for him and for you, and maybe he would have decided to just not do cons anymore. idk, but, hopefully there will be another one and you'll get to go see him in person again :)
I didn't watch much of the 100 but I was always pleased when not-Gaeta-anymore was on lol.
Haha, I'm glad you're enjoying BSG! Once you're done with the series you can dive head first into the fandom too, without having to worry about spoilers! Like, since you just found out who 4 of the final 5 are, that was a huuuuge one. I'm glad you got to be blown away by it like I was! I also spent the whole 4th season (until it was revealed) trying to guess who the final cylon was.

As for tajine, I don't know why, but Doris had never really mentioned it much till recently. I know lots of Mexicans use it.
LOL at not-Gaeta-anymore. Season 3 in The 100 was a great season for Sinclair camera time; I know you didn't make it that far, but I will say that was one of S3 stronger points, that he's on a lot more. (Though he also dies in S3 so....)
Yeah it is a miracle that I wasn't spoiled on the 4 cylons! Ofc Doris and I have tossed out names for the 5th and speculated about it but we don't know. Some feel too obvious right now like Starbuck or even Zarek. But we do guess that it's a major character like one of the Adamas or Roslin or Helo.....hmmm...
