How funny about the vending machine. When I worked at the Y, we had a baggie at the desk and our vending machine vendor would come and give us some change to give to people who came to the desk to complain. Often we would run out of change before the vendor came back and people had to write down what they lost and come back another day to ask for it.
How exciting about the new duties!! I hope it's helpful and enjoyable (well, as much as work can be enjoyable ;)). And I'm not surprised your boss said nice things about you!
