This afternoon I felt a tingle in my throat and noticed that my omnipresent appetite was gone. I haven't had a cold for over a year and a half and I am such a big baby when I get sick. After this post I plan to retire to bed with a good book and hope to sidestep this cold. Work is very very busy this week.

But before I hit the sack...yesterday I posted about needing more motivation to write fanfic and received a smattering of comments that suggested that some might be interested in some sort of forum for us writers to motivate/encourage/prompt each other. This could take the format of f-locked LJ posts, simple email, a yahoo group, IM, whatever. Rather than me responding more to individual comments, please post here if you're interested and please let us know your preferences in terms of format.

For us Firefly fans though, there is already a fanfic writing com, [livejournal.com profile] bdwriters. We could make use of that instead of re-inventing the wheel. But this format might not work for my buddy [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress as you're not a Browncoat.

I like having a support network of folks I know (I know, a small thing in the Browncoat world because we all are family here) but, and this is kind of important; there have been a few dialogues going on in different lj's sparked by a discussion over at FFF.net about 'ships, and what is ok and what isn't. My thinking is, if we are looking for support in our writing, going somewhere where our personal stories and 'ships are looked upon negatively would only stifle the urge to write.

I would think a smaller, more personal interaction among closer writers would be better...JM2C

I think a flocked lj would be best because then everyone in the flist could access the posts...

If it bothers you this much that I'm not, I'll go buy the DVD set at work. ^_^ 'Sides, if it's prompts you want, prompts I got...and I'm leaning toward f-locked LJ or email to multiple recipients kind of interaction.

You know, this cold must be spread via Internet...seriously, a lot of folks on my f-list are sick. Including me, now. It hit me all in a flash this morning.

Feel better, you! :)

I can usually avoid a cold if I take Airborne soon enough, and that usually means two or three at a time. And of course, overdosing on C can't hurt.

As far as the writing goes, why not mix it up a bit? Maybe you're just stuck in the Zoe/Wash rut. Maybe you might try exploring some of the other characters and/or pairings. You had a GREAT idea about Simon a while back, as I recall. (So, yeah, that's my prompt. ;-))

Feel better soon!
