Well, here's (http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/17/nokia-n810-gets-official/) a new gadget I want to get my hands on. It's like a large wireless-networking-enabled PDA, with a built-in GPS (and a whole bunch of other stuff). Despite the fact it's a Nokia, it's not a phone. It'd be great for toting around to places and being able to play around on the internet, watch movies, do some work, blah blah. With it being Bluetooth-enabled, you can hook up to the internet via your phone connection (assuming your phone has Bluetooth) if you're desperate. But it's not cheap.
But if Doris would like something a bit less techie, but still sexy in a gadget way, I like the look of these new Leatherman tools (http://www.leatherman.com/products/tools/skeletool-CX/default.asp).
Finally, check out BoingBoing's gadget blog (http://gadgets.boingboing.net/) for umpteen other suggestions. :-)
