Fandom Appreciation Day

rivendellrose tells us that it is Fandom Appreciation Day!

It is a day to do any or all of the following:

Choose someone on your friends list and:

1) Leave them a comment telling them how much you appreciate them.
2) Read one of their stories you've never read before or look at a fanart or a video they made and give them feedback.
3) Write something or create something for them.

Or find another way to appreciate them.

It will take me a while to give all the proper appreciation that I need to give, but I will gladly get to it.

In the spirit of the day, does anyone on my f-list want to request a Firefly fic? As long as it doesn't involve character deaths or having to pair Zoe/Wash with someone other than their spouse, I am pretty open to trying to write anything.

I have a question for the Firefly fans out there...

This may be a bit of an odd question but thought I’d toss it out anyway. Does anyone know why there are like way more Simon/Kaylee smutfics than Zoe/Wash smutfics? I know this is wildly unscientific but my hunch, after being on various FF fanfic communities including one devoted to S/K and another to Z/W, is that it seems there are really a lot more NC-17 Simon/Kaylee fics than NC-17 Zoe/Wash fics. Why?

Also unscientifically, I believe that the total amount of general fanfic devoted to the two couples is roughly equal. But I’ve read way more fics where Simon and Kaylee, um, explicitly get it on than comparable fics for Zoe and Wash.

I like both couples but just am wondering about this. Any theories?
