Fatigue

How much fatigue is normal? How tired do you get?

I’m tired a lot. There are two types of fatigue I experience. One is an overall feeling of not having a lot of energy. The other is specific to my legs and feet – they just sometimes feel sore and tired. The first one bothers me more. Many evenings I come home from work and lay on the sofa reading, without much energy to do a lot else. I yawn a lot, don’t have a lot of ‘get up and go’.

I have at least one theory as to why I get tired often. My gynecologist and I think I have endometriosis, and many women with endo are tired a lot since it basically forces your immune system to work overtime.

Regarding the general soreness in my legs and feet, it continues to confound me. I thought once I lost the weight (I lost over 40 lbs), it would help since my feet had less to carry. I also have orthotic inserts for my shoes, custom made by my chiropractor. And I work out regularly. But these 3 things haven’t really taken care of the problem.

I imagine some fatigue is normal, right? My friend Laurie says that she, too, likes to nap on her days off. Could the fatigue just be a normal result of working a lot? I do work a lot at my job but it’s not like I pull 13 hour days every day, either.

Is it Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Am I just destined to not have a ton of energy? Is it just that I’m a total morning person, since the overall fatigue tends to set in during the afternoon? How tired do you get?
