MoveOn.org posted this picture of a bird on the beach at East Grand Terre Island, LA yesterday. It's hard to look at. But if anything, it drives home the need to for us to seriously explore energy sources other than oil and to break our addiction to it.

Our reckless destruction of nature and animals to pursue our own ends really bothers me. We act like we're the only species on the planet and we don't think much about what we're leaving the next generation.
