I loved our visit to the Wisconsin Dells with our 3 nephews. They behaved really well, by and large. They each told us one thing they really wanted to do, and after we heard everyone’s input, we visited Wizard Quest, Noah’s Ark waterpark, Mt Olympus rollercoaster park, did lasertag and bumpercars, mini-golf, and visited the condo’s pool and hot tub 3 times. Everyone got in what they wanted to do.

Loved the condo, even though it had no wifi. The pool and hot tub were huge hits, and it was very roomy. Two bedrooms, two baths, nice big kitchen and living room. Like we always did, we brought food so we had breakfast and lunch in the condo and only went out for dinners. The boys all loved the vegetarian restaurant in the Dells (The Cheese Factory) even though none of them are vegetarians.

One of the boys was diagnosed with Asberger’s. I don’t get it. He’s a fine kid, a little quiet, but very mature and thoughtful. I’m sure that 20 or 30 years ago or so, he wouldn’t have had a diagnosis slapped onto him or been told he’s abnormal.

One thing we all have to do better is talk. When we went out to dinner, or to snacks at McDonald’s, we used the restaurant’s wifi and just did internetting. They all played ipad games in the car, which I’m sure made the 3-4 hour trip bearable, but I worry as a society at how little we listen or converse with each other. I’m as guilty of this as anyone.

I took today off and accomplished a lot!

- Grocery shopping
- Workout at gym
- Pedicure
- Library
- First-ever eyebrow wax*
- Phoned mother-in-law
- Cooked
- Took cat to vet for check up

*I’ve never done it before but figured what the heck. My eyebrows were definitely bushy.
