I don't have much to write about since my last COVID-19 post. Still working from home, enjoying having more time with Doris, worried for those I love (and you know, worried about the fact that the impacts on the US and the world will likely be catastrophic).
I am SO lucky that I love to write! My current fanfic is at 43,000 words. And it's a sequel to the one I wrote that has 61,000 words. I have 2 betas who give me great feedback, and 1 or 2 readers who sometimes leave comments, and 99 kudos. That's about it, but it's enough. Plus I just love writing it.
Oh! I did a post on FB on things I'm doing to try to help in this COVID 19 world. What the hell, I'll share it here.
And yeah, many of them do require a bit of extra money, but the last one is the most important and anyone can do it! And the two before it might not cost you anything either.
1. Trying to support small, local restaurants. Bought a gift card to one (it's temporarily closed now), and ordered from another that does curbside pick up
2. Donated $ to a food pantry and to a local group that helps cash-strapped people.
3. Told my cleaning service not to come but still paid them.
4. Sent treats to the people who work at my local grocery store, and donated to their Go Fund Me for their employees.
5. Asked a couple down the street who are both health care professionals if I can help, gave them a gift of bath bombs, and offered a couple rolls of TP to someone who needed it.
6. Donated board games that we haven't used in years. Fortunately most of them are like age 12 and up. The person who picked them up off my front porch said her kids will appreciate them!
7. But I can't bail out everyone....we need better government! Vote! Call your elected officials! If we just rescinded the tax cuts given to the top 1% of Americans (who are already FILTHY rich), imagine what we could pay for.
