The convention and the refund
Aug. 18th, 2021 11:19 amAbout the damn convention, I finally got a reply to an email today. It was from TicketWeb, not the con organizers who still haven't replied. TicketWeb said they processed the refund on July 26, and it could take 45-60 days for me to see it. That's quite some time, but I'm just happy to get a reply and confirmation that the refund is in the works. The past few days, I'd been giving up hope of ever seeing the money. I had even been asking myself why I wanted it to so much. Because I'm angry that my favorite was likely booted out of the con? (Since I doubt he chose to bow out). Because I'm so eager to donate most of the refund? I am....but I can (and do) make donations now.
I do have a list of organizations to consider for the donation, and once it goes through, I'll probably pick 2. And I did say I'd spend some of it on myself. But....to buy what? I don't want or need more clothes, I already buy plenty of books and treat myself to takeout at least once per week. I have plenty of makeup and accessories, and I get regular massages. I can't really go anywhere other than these small road trips Doris and I have been doing. What splurge do I really want?
I thought of one. Lotto. Play Lotto. If I win, Ann and I can retire in the next 5 years and not have to worry about work. It's stupid, but I think that's what I'll likely do with the part of the refund that I don't donate.
