Random gratitude

 
- NYE was great! It did start out weird as my stomach hurt for a bit but it passed. Alas, I did not manage to stay up beyond 11:30. But had a blast with the gang. And Doris's cooking, OMG. She made avocado dip, some corn dip thing, spring rolls, cookies, muffins, and chocolate bars. And the next morning she made waffles and bread. The spring rolls were especially good because I guessed that maybe the pizza hurt my stomach, and the spring rolls were the right mix of light-but-filling. And Ann brought me a salted caramel bar which is really, really good. 

- The day after, we got an unexpected upside when Doris could't find the waffle iron. We all (Eric stayed over with us) searched high and low, and in the process, Doris cleaned out a lot of stuff. YES! (Most of the clutter in this house is hers and it's really hard getting her to go through it. The day after New Year's Day I gave her a choice: clean out a room with me or go grocery shopping with me. Of course she chose grocery shopping). Anyway, she eventually found the waffle iron and the waffles were great. She calls them wafflers, with an L. lol

- My weigh-in on the morning of New Year's Eve was the lowest it's been in years. I guess not everyone gains weight in December?

- Now onto fan and TV stuff. It's so hard to have any idea what's going on with Alessandro as he doesn't post on social media, and IMDB often is so out of date or wrong. So sometimes I just do a search for his name on FB or Twitter. That's actually how I found out he was gonna be at Anime Pasadena, which I still am so glad I went to.  A few days ago, I just did another search and apparently stumbled upon his talent agency. They did a post and said that he landed a booking on AMC! I have no idea what the gig is but still this is good news. I did reply to the post and ask if they could share any info, but they said they couldn't. 

- 12 years after everyone else, I started watching Downton Abbey and I love it! Eric also recommended Abbott Elementary and it's good

- Weekend is here! I am going to check out Kribi Coffee since I seem to be in a coffeeshop phase. They have a vegan sandwich and a couple of other vegan items, according to their website.
