I'm not sure how to begin this review, but WOW, this is amazing! At first, I was a bit unsure about the first-person perspective, but as I went on I grew comfortable with it, and I thought it was a better choice than third-person perspective. Also, I love the narration aspect, how this fic is Riptide telling Angel a story.
I really love their characterization here. And Azazel is so great - the fact that you never get to see inside of his head leaves him as pretty mysterious, especially through the eyes of young Riptide. I love that scene with Emma and Azazel when he's saying he's going to leave. It's a bit sinister as well as sad, and I really love what it does for the story. Adds an edge that I quite like. ♥
One of my favorite parts was when Riptide found out Azazel was returning, and then he cleaned the guestroom. To me, this communicated total dedication, and I just fell in love with Riptide and his love for Azazel. This is a great fic, and I look forward to reading more from you!
