So, I bought the the Instyler and tried it a few times to straighten my hair, but my hair doesn’t look good after using it. I think the terms that would describe it are fly-away and maybe frizzy; my hair just doesn’t look sleek afterwards. I’m following all the instructions. But then again, I’ve never had much of a knack for styling my hair either. For the past, oh, 15 years my hair routine has been to apply Aveda’s Be Curly (or something like it) on damp hair, go to work, tease and fluff the hair a little in the car, and be done.
Here are, I think, my options:
- Get some good product to put on my hair after using the InStyler. Aveda’s Smooth Infusion maybe? I think it definitely needs some sort of finisher. (Also
scribble_myname was giving me a few ideas too about making sure the hair doesn't get damaged from heat - thank you!)
- Bring the InStyler to the salon and ask for help in using it and what to put on afterwards.
- Forget about straightening my hair. I never intended to do it often anyway, since I don’t have the time in the morning and I do like my curls. Save straightening for special occasions when I go to the salon to have it done.
