Neither character has received much characterization in the comics. Azazel, who has appeared fewer times, has a little more to him. Not much, he was still pretty generic. But Riptide has only been portrayed as an uninteresting straight-up psychopath. You've probably put more thought in a single one of your stories than have all of the comic writers combined.
