Thank you

I just wanted to thank the people who still read and comment on my blog. I think there are about 6 folks left who read it, and I'm not being at all facetious - I really appreciate each one of you for doing so.

For whatever reason, lately LJ's demise in popularity has really been bothering me even though LJ has been dwindling for quite some time. But even has recently as 2011 when I was really into X-men First Class, the X-men comms on LJ were buzzing; it was still a very active place.

I miss LJ being active. For my fandom now, there's good activity on FB, Tumblr, and Reddit and I've learned to appreciate those mediums for what they are and be glad they exist. But LJ was/is special. None of the above places let you combine fangirling with personal blogging and you can't get as in-depth anywhere else either. LJ has its flaws but I've also had so many good interactions and discussions here over the years.

Definitely I plan to stick with LJ as long as one or two others who I like are posting and one or two others are reading my LJ. I do seriously mourn its loss of popularity, and that's why I want to thank anyone who is reading this or even glancing at it.

Aw. :(

I don't tend to use LJ for fandom that much. I mean, sure, I have my share of fandoms, but interacting with online fans has its share of...issues...that I'd rather just not deal with. Because of Reasons.

That said, yeah, it's nice having a place that combines personal blogging and fandom so nicely. There's really nowhere else like it.

Likewise. I appreciate that you take the time to read and comment on my journal. I hope that if this placve ever drops off altogether we will go back to emailing or something. I would hate to lose touch since I consider you a dear friend.

I don't think I'll ever give up LJ. It's the one place where I can do whatever I want and only show it to the people I want.

myspace died years ago and I think facebook is on its way out in the next 5 years if that.

I'm not really into FB or tumblr - though it seems much of my flist has migrated to those locations as well. But I still prefer LJ, so I won't be going anywhere for the foreseeable future! :)

(PS - I hope you had an amazing time on your trip!)

Ya, I understand. I'm still around, I just lack like, drive or something.

You are most welcome and thank you to you for reading mine.

I really like the anonymity that LJ offers. I haven't gotten on Reddit much but I didn't care for its setup at all. I'm on FB and Tumblr but both are a little soul-sucking and odd. At least with FB one can chat in privately but I really haven't figured out Tumblr that far. I like how LJ doesn't have a 'reblog' button like FB and Tumblr do. I mean, sure, you can still steal stuff but it isn't as easy. It's nice that things get circulated but you don't have as much control on FB and Tumblr.

I'm going to be here for a while so....

BTW, I made more icons.

I mourn the demise, too. I hate tumblr. It's good for looking at pictures, but I hate the lack of interaction. It's just so... shallow. Half the fun of blogging/fandom, at least for me, is the commenting and interaction with other people. Just "liking" or "reblogging" something isn't enough.

As for dwindling fandom here, in the gentlest way possible, I think if you were still talking about X-Men (there's a new Wolverine movie! the next First Class is coming out soon!), you might get some more interaction. Which is not to say you shouldn't squee about whatever you want. You absolutely should. But I think your current interests are more of a niche that is better found on tumblr than LJ.
