I just wanted to thank the people who still read and comment on my blog. I think there are about 6 folks left who read it, and I'm not being at all facetious - I really appreciate each one of you for doing so.
For whatever reason, lately LJ's demise in popularity has really been bothering me even though LJ has been dwindling for quite some time. But even has recently as 2011 when I was really into X-men First Class, the X-men comms on LJ were buzzing; it was still a very active place.
I miss LJ being active. For my fandom now, there's good activity on FB, Tumblr, and Reddit and I've learned to appreciate those mediums for what they are and be glad they exist. But LJ was/is special. None of the above places let you combine fangirling with personal blogging and you can't get as in-depth anywhere else either. LJ has its flaws but I've also had so many good interactions and discussions here over the years.
Definitely I plan to stick with LJ as long as one or two others who I like are posting and one or two others are reading my LJ. I do seriously mourn its loss of popularity, and that's why I want to thank anyone who is reading this or even glancing at it.

Date: 2013-07-31 05:39 pm (UTC)I don't tend to use LJ for fandom that much. I mean, sure, I have my share of fandoms, but interacting with online fans has its share of...issues...that I'd rather just not deal with. Because of Reasons.
That said, yeah, it's nice having a place that combines personal blogging and fandom so nicely. There's really nowhere else like it.

Given this....what is your take on LJ's dwindled popularity?

Date: 2013-07-31 10:33 pm (UTC)I don't. I geek out over various things, one or two other people appear to geek out along with me, and that's all I need.
Which is why you won't see me blogging about web serials anymore, because clearly, no one on my f'list cares.

See above. I geek out either with one or two other people, or in a vacuum. It's always been that way with me.

Date: 2013-07-31 10:46 pm (UTC)Sometimes friending memes are a way, but half the time those just sort of peter out and go nowheres. Sometimes, what'll happen is I'll join a fandom community for long enough to post recaps or icons or something, and make a new Friend through that. And along the way, we seem to find other things to geek out about.

Makes sense!

Date: 2013-08-01 01:58 am (UTC)Could be! That's the thing--I seriously don't remember. It was either that, or maybe you found one of my icon-spam posts with X-Men on it back before I was locking everything and commented on it. I know there was an LGBT friending meme I did while ago, but I'm pretty sure we were already friends when that happened.
I know my current beta reader (that's
