I've decided that now I like the realism of it. Romantic fic is all well and good and we love it, but the extra dimensions here of poverty and hygiene and obligation and argument add extra dimensions to the characters and the story you're telling for them. You've snatched away a moment here and recreated it so clearly and poignantly. Thank you.
