I'll do 2 happy things and 1 sad thing

1. Grateful for my wonderful spouse

2. Had lunch with my friend Val today

But the sad thing....

Val is struggling with finances, a shitty job, and health issues. Val certainly isn't the only person who is. Idk maybe 80% of this country is too. It's just sad. I feel like someone like Val should be thriving and instead it seems that she's just trying to get through the day.
