Fic update

Because I think this is hilarious, I am going to update you on the fic situation. I took a Spartacus WIP that I never posted, changed the characters' names to those in Our Flag Means Death, and posted it. I used a new/fake A03 account and did not promote the fic anywhere. Just a few stats:

- The bad OFMD fic currently has 17 subscriptions and 21 kudos. (It blows my mind that it has more than 2 or 3 of either)

- I've posted 19 Spartacus fics, each of which I - you know - tried really hard on and put a lot of effort into. 
     - Only 4 of them have more subscribers than the bad OFMD fic I posted (OMG WTF)
     - 5 of them have fewer kudos than the bad OFMD fic I posted 

So I guess if you want your fic to get attention, write it in a popular fandom that has a lot of active participants!

Postscript - I am starting to like my bad OFMD fic and have updated it a few times. :)

Still, I get what you're saying. It's got to be frustrating to pour so much into your writing and then get like nothing back. And as frustrating as it is, it's pretty cool that there IS still a fandom to share it with even now. Hooray for the internet? lol

Absolutely. Though no matter how you slice it, an active fandom is so much more fun than an inactive one.
