Random gratitude

stormkeeper_lovedoris- While in Savannah, at the tea and spice shop, I bought black tea in the flavor of "hazelnut cookie". It was so good. And of course I've finished it all by now.
- Game night was yesterday - and we have a new player who fits right in with us!
- While searching for more Chinese music on YouTube, I found a singer named Wulan Tuya. And now I have a whole playlist of her. Her music is like....my favorite of everything, like it's gorgeous and amazing and where has she been all my life??
- On Sundays, Doris goes to her mom's. Today she did her usual thing....but she didn't leave till like 3:00 and we spent the day bingeing the show Foundation and had so much fun! Finished S1 and this show is so good! Doris also made veggie burgers. Bingeing a good show with Doris is my favorite way to spend a Sunday. Wish she didn't have to go to her mom's but at least I got her for most of the day.
A lot of fandom ones:
- So here's the biggest one. In The 100, my OTP is Jackson and Miller, and they are played by Sachin and Jarod. From what fans have gathered, Sachin and Jarod were really good friends when the show was filming, but it stopped filming about 3 years ago, the 2 haven't been at the same in-person con in about as long, and they haven't posted together on any social meds for years. We ("we" being Monica and Mia, kinda like their only die-hard fans left) figured that maybe their friendship was a "situation-ship" and they just don't hang, and that's too bad but that's life. Last week, one of their costars in The 100 got married. Sachin mentioned in a Cameo to me that he was heading to Texas for the wedding, and Jarod mentioned to his biggest fan Monica that he was doing the same. Us (three) fans held our breaths. Would they hang out together or not? Was any friendship just kinda over? One morning I woke up, grabbed my phone, and saw that I had an IG notification....Monica's message which began "our boys" !! They hung out together and each shared a pic to their IGs!! That was a nice way to begin my morning. (Monica said she stayed up late waiting and hoping for one of them to post).
(Does it matter if Sachin and Jarod aren't friends anymore? Who really cares? Mackson were a great ship regardless. But.....IDK it's just better when the actors are friends!)
- Also, this week I got a notification from IMDB that Sachin got a new acting credit. This one stumps me because it's for a show made in India in 1997 - when he was like 12. Is it being relaunched or did his IMDB just finally decide to add in something he shot when he was 12? (I guess I can just ask him in my next Cameo. I know he didn't get serious about acting till he graduated college but maybe he dabbled when he was younger?)
- Saturday I woke up to 4 new fanfic comments. One of which was like the best comment ever. Also got like 3 on Friday. Most were on the epilogue I'd posted of my long fic.
Also...
- I need to write more! Just haven't been writing much the past two weeks. I have a third chapter of my latest multi-chapter finished and ready to post, but it's been finished for over two weeks. I miss writing more and need to get on it. I do admit that the ideas are fewer and less insistent now. Which does often happen after I've been in a fandom for a bit.

Do you think it's possible it's someone else with a similar name who was in that show in 1997? Seems very weird that they would suddenly be adding it.

Date: 2023-09-29 12:07 am (UTC)The Chinese music - I've had a thing for it since Yok Lan made me a mixtape 25 years ago. :) But definitely I've been having a renewed interest in it since I discovered Wulan Tuya lately.
I gotta just ask Sachin about that! It does seem so odd.
