51 list and gratitude

Two items to add to my list of "51 completely badass things I'm doing to mark the fact that I turned 50 last year"

Number 6 - I mentioned this one before but want to officially put it on the list. I wrote 2 fics last year that were totally out of my usual genre. (A vampire AU and a royalty AU).

Number 7 - I opened a cookbook and made something I'd not normally have made. (Broiled eggplant)

Yes, it's true - this list is not very badass and I'm likely going to need longer than 12 months to hit 51 items.

Gratitude list

 - Fun weekend stuff. Last weekend Scrabble with Ann, and the day before that a nice coffeeshop/bookstore visit in Oak Park. Game night yesterday

- Doris is baking bread!

- The visit with the Dutch ambassador went well, and my coworker Rachel publicly recognized me for it

- Last week I was walking from the office to the car. I see a nicely wrapped gift box from Olive and Piper. It says "Take me!" So....I do. It's fully wrapped up and sealed. And it's 3 lovely pairs of earrings!!

Fandom stuff

- X-men97 has started, it is incredible and I am in my fandom feels for these characters. Like this was my fantasy for nearly a quarter century, that we'd someday get more of this show and these characters. And here it is??

- Also just want to mention that my Malec multi-chapter fic is doing great. Still pulling 8-10 comments per chapter. Kudos are at 195 though some are from a bot. Most importantly, I am still loving writing it!

Very true!

As for that eggplant dish, I probably wouldn't make it again unless I had a bunch of eggplant I was trying to get rid of.

I loved that bit about the gift package. Like it's so neat to just...find something for free on the sidewalk! Similar to a Little Free Library. Perhaps the company builds stuff like this into their marketing budget.

Yay, hope Miko enjoys it too! I love that she loved Shadowhunters and Malec so much!

Wikipedia says no new Ghosts till April. :(
