Ooop it's been a while:

- Doris and I will be flying to see my sister in December, and we were able to almost fully pay for the flights with the points we got from our London flights

- Fanfic writing is going great; I love this fic! And another Malec fic, my most kudo-ed ever, has surpassed 400 kudos. Highest ever for me.

- The sizzle reel for Sachin's thing has been released! Don't know if anyone will pick it up but glad the sizzle reel is out

- Went canvassing and it went fine. Doing it again in 2 days. And it was the first time in my life I was paid for activism!

- Speaking of pay, been getting insane payouts from the surveys I do on Prolific

- A cool guy who I kinda know and follow, an activist with Mercy for Animals, invited me to lunch as he's in town next week. I am looking forward to it. (Even tho I'm sure he's gonna ask for more money for MFA)

- Doris said the sweetest thing to me the other day. I'd told her I was gonna be home late because I had a work dinner with coworkers. I get home and she's not there; she gets home at a time that's quite a bit later than her usual time. I ask why. She said she decided to just work late that evening because she didn't want to come home to a house when I wasn't there. Awww. (Also dinners with coworkers are never my fav thing but it went fine)

- Doris and I are on our first day of 3 day weekend in Madison. It's lovely. Cute AirBnb, and downtown Madison is so sweet with so many great restaurants. (But I'm in WI for 6 nights and I FORGOT TO PACK ANY SOCKS!) :) Well, at least we have a car and we have nothing pressing tomorrow so we'll hit Target. Kicking myself for this error even though it's an easy fix.

LOL--in my world "MFA" means "Master of Fine Arts," so that threw for a minute.

Yay for canvassing and being paid for activism! That's amazing, especially since it's been part of your life for so long.

And listen: I don't know if this is your thing or not, but if I were in your position re: no socks? I would totally use it as an excuse to splurge on the kitschiest Halloween socks I could find at the nearest craft store. Or Target! They have silly socks there too.

In fact, I should do that anyway. I only have four pairs of Halloween socks right now and that's NOT ENOUGH! I want one for EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK! *Adding it to The List*

Oh man I should've, about the socks!! I am so ridiculous when it comes to socks; I need them to be thick and sturdy and I always wear them to bed even when it's hot out.

But some Halloween patterns would've been nice. Next time....

To be fair, you are much further North than me--does it get chilly at night even in Summer for you? Or is it more of a texture thing? I never wear socks to bed unless it's freezing.

It's some weird psychological thing. Once a coworker speculated that it's because my mom put me in feet-in pajamas when I was a kid. :)

Ha! That's cute. Although I had feet pajamas as a kid too, and I'm not into sleeping with socks on now. Hm.

I think I am just weird in this regard. Guessing most folks prefer to sleep barefoot unless it's really cold where they are.

That's been my norm. Although, I do insist on the sheets being tightly tucked in. My mom and my brother are both happier when their feet stick out one end. I don't get that at all.

OK, what's a sizzle reel? That's a term I haven't heard before!

How was lunch from the guy from MFA?

I think it's so sweet that Doris didn't want to come home without you being there. Awwwww.

A sizzle reel is something the production company makes to try to drum up interest in their show/movie/whatever. To get someone to pick it up.

Lunch with the MFA guy is Sunday.
