I'm back from a fantastic vacation! I'll have pictures and a write-up soon. But I totally missed all of you. It'll take me a while to go through pages and pages of my f-list. What'd I miss?
YAAY you're back! -hugs- Do yourself a favor and just tell everyone your not gonna sort all those pages. If you missed anything important tell them to send ya a link. But you do have the time don't you. ;)
Glad your back it wasn't the same here. Felt you missing.
Aww, thanks so much! It feels nice to be back. I was only gone for a week, but the weird thing is that my house looks/feels different. Seriously. Even stepping into the shower felt weird. I don't usually go away for a whole week, so that must've been it.
I have stuff on the Zoe/Wash group to catch up on!
It's basically a dig at Joss Whedon for always killing off members of teams. Like Wash. So someone found an icon on Jayne straining to hear something over the radio and came up with the caption.
Oh, same old, same old for me. We just bought tickets for our trip to California in June, so vacationing is very much on my mind right now. Glad yours went well--no disastrous layovers, I imagine? ;-)
Where in California did you say you're going? I am thrilled that you're getting a vacation too!
We did have a layover problem but I wouldn't call it disastrous. On the way home, our first flight was delayed 2 and a half hours, so we missed the connection. But they got us on a later flight. We didn't get home till 12:30 am (and I was really really tired during that second flight - I can't sleep on airplanes!) but we made it.
I will get around to doing a proper post on the trip soon, I promise.
LA for two days to visit Cathy's family (her niece is graduating high school) and then on to San Francisco for five days. I'm thrilled too--haven't had a vacation in way too long (unless I count Montreal, which was only a weekend).
So you did miss the connection! But at least you got a later flight without any problems. I guess it's in the airline's best interest not to leave their customers hanging. Theoretically, at least. :)
Doris and I went to San Francisco a few years ago. I think we had only 2 days there (like in your case, the rest of the visit was tied in to a trip to see Doris's family in Santa Cruz). The Mission district, the lesbian area of town, was great. As was the Castro. It was fun just to walk around there, see the shops, talk to people. We also did a group tour to Muir Woods. Sadly, the tour was structured so that we got less than 45 minutes there! (So if you're inclined to do such a tour, find out beforehand how long you'll actually have with the trees).
We'll definitely hit the Mission and the Castro. It's funny you should mention Muir Woods; my mom told me that's a must-see. I hope we get more than 45 minutes though!
I'm looking for summer work, and there's nothing in my field around here, so I'm applying to basic warm body type jobs. So it's really frustrating when I'm getting rejected for jobs that you don't even need to be done HIGH SCHOOL for.
Plus, interviews make me nervous, which doesn't help when you're applying to customer service. :p
You missed me bitching about my sister again, and grumping at one of the guy-friends on my f-list...and me posting a Filipino recipe. I think that's the only interesting things.
Welcome back!! I'm so glad to hear the trip went well, and I'm looking forward to reading about it. :)
It's been a hell of a week for me. I got some news from the vet that unsettled me slightly (it's fine now) and I've been acting up a storm...I got home about a half hour ago from my fifth acting gig in two weeks. Yiiikes. The last posts in my journal have the info.
