Does anyone want a Bitch? (magazine, that is)

I posted this offer in my LJ a year or two ago and thought I'd repeat it again.

My favorite magazine is Bitch magazine . It's a funny, feisty mag with lots of fresh commentary on images of women in the media, and women in society overall. It's also obviously not a magazine that receives tons of ad revenue and, like most indie magazines, has to fight to stay in business. One thing that helps them is to get new subscribers. Do you want a subscription to Bitch? If so, let me know and I will give you one.

Of course you need to be ok with giving me your name and address because I can't order the gift sub for you unless you provide me with that. I promise you I'm not a crazy stalker.

When I started reading the letter, I thought it might've been yours. But no. :( They did publish a letter in that very issue from someone else on my flist though!

I've written them twice - one I thought was a particularly well-written letter -- but never had one published.

*nods* It's a bummer when your letters aren't published. :( I guess they must get a lot of mail and can't print everything, but it's still disappointing.

I think the people who read and write to Bitch are intelligent, like to write, like to think and debate. They must get so much mail that there's no way I could ever take it personally or get disappointed if they don't print my letter.

ITA. I'm not taking it personally at all. I guess the most important thing is that they hear what their readers are thinking about the things they publish, and that happens regardless if the letters make it into print.

And it's really cool to read the letters and feel part of this intelligent community with diverse viewpoints. There's just no other magazine like Bitch.
