Spoilers for tonight's Drag Race episode

So we're down to the top 3! As expected, they didn't eliminate anyone tonight. All 3 of the top 3 remain and the winner will be decided on May 6 in New York City - and I'll be there in person with my friend D!!! As with last season, Ru said that fan votes and opinions will be taken into account.
Alaska did really well tonight. They had several components to today's challenge. There was a dancing component, the girls made a video to one of Ru's songs, then they did an acting/comedy challenge in a courtroom format, then they had their runway, they gave a speech as to why they should be America's Next Drag Superstar, and they ended with a lip synch.
Alaska did great in all except the dancing (she sucks at dancing! her knock-knees don't help). But everything else - was fierce! She acts and does comedy well, her runway got a ton of praise, and her speech was the best. The judges said that she has successfully stepped out of Sharon's shadow. (Although she has said in interviews that she loves Sharon so much, it is an honor to be compared to her. I love that!)
The 3 finalists also have lunch with Ru each season. It was noted that if Alaska wins then she and Sharon will be drag's royal couple. Ru asked Alaska what she's afraid of, and she said she's afraid of dying. I need to re-watch this but as I remember it, Alaska said that she and Sharon have built this castle and Alaska doesn't want it to end with her dying. They replayed some comments Alaska made in episode 4 when she said that Sharon is her soulmate and she never thought she'd find a love like this.
FB, Twitter, and Tumblr are all on fire with fans stating their opinion on who should win. I've said for many, many weeks that Jinkx will be unstoppable and she is indeed winning the Twitter wars. (Roxxxy is so unpopular that I truly think she doesn't have a chance). Alaska did so well the last few episodes that I do believe she has a shot at the title. But Jinkx will likely snatch it.
No matter. Alaska did AMAZING this season. She proved she's not "just" Sharon's partner. I can't wait to see where her career goes.

Date: 2013-05-03 07:13 pm (UTC)I'm not looking forward to american deciding the winner tho cause America is corny as hell and makes the wrong decisions. I mean they picked the first queen to get the boot this season.
And last year I didn't really care for any of the queens but I was pushing for Chad Michaels since Latrice Royale left.
