1. Someone I know who needed a job just got one! A good one, with benefits. She and I worked together 5 years ago. When we started working together so long ago, she was a contract employee on a 10-month assignment, she had been recently laid off from her last job and really wanting a full-time job. I felt bad when we had to let her go when her contract was up; we didn't have headcount for her. She temped for a while and I helped her find a full time job, but she was laid off from that one too after a year. For the past 3 years or so she's just been stringing temp gigs together. I was so happy to get her text today! She told me I was the best, most fair, and honest boss she's ever had. That meant a lot to me.

2. Next week I fly to Atlanta for work. They assured me that getting vegan lunches for me would be no problem. And I took them through what I was planning to cover for my segment and they loved it.

3. Yesterday I was tempted to purchase some new clothes (which I don't need) online. Fortunately my conscious spoke to me and I instead decided to donate the money to help Syrian refugees.
