1. Yesterday (Friday) was a rare day in which something wonderful happened. I had the day off, Doris was up out of bed earlier than usual, and the weather was good. So we went for a walk! It was just so nice to spend time together like that

2. The rest of my day off was good too. Had lunch with a former coworker (Julissa) and got a message and a manicure. Got caught up on my shows (Star Trek, Brooklyn 99, The Orville, Drag Race)

3. And now it's Saturday morning. We're doing dinner with Chris and Heather tonight at a vegan restaurant I haven't tried yet

Yay for good weather and togetherness times! It's raining buckets down here. Which isn't unusual, especially for this time of year, but lord, am I tired of it. At least it's keeping the pollen at bay.

How is The Orville? I keep hearing about that show, and it seems to be getting good buzz, but what's it actually about?

Sorry to hear you're getting tons of rain! It is annoying.

The Orville is like Star Trek but comprised of one-third comedy, one-third interpersonal relationships among crew, and one-third sci-fi plots. Its quality has been a bit up and down but I love the premise and I like the characters.

Ooh, fun! Once I'm done with this season of Doctor Who I was thinking of picking up another sci-fi thing. I was leaning toward Red Dwarf, but I'll put this one on the list too!

Yay for spending time with your sweetheart, and what a fun sounding day off! Was it a just because day? How was the restaurant?

It was a 'just because' day, as you said. I have so much vacation time and no plans for any big trips, so I try to start just using up days.

The restaurant was awesome, and it's literally next door to the building Chris and Heather live in!
