1. I'm writing a new fanfic! I just get so energized when I'm writing. Especially if I think others will enjoy it. I just sent the first chapter to my (great) beta. I'm at 4,200 words so far.

2. Doris and I enjoyed a yummy dinner at No Bones Beach Club yesterday

3. And I canvassed again yesterday and it went well. I'll do it again on Saturday, and then I think we get 2 weeks off for the holidays.

1) Yay for writing new stuff! It's so great when you're in that New Story Energy and getting the word count in, isn't it?

3) What exactly do you do when you're canvassing? I've seen a handful of people out and about here, knocking on doors, handing out flyers, that sort of thing. Is it mostly that, or is there other stuff involved?

The canvassing can take a few different forms but it's usually one (or a few) of these:

1. Trying to collect signatures to get the candidate's name on the ballot

2. Asking the voter what issues are important to them

3. Asking if they've heard of the candidate

4. Telling them why we support the candidate

The season for #1 is over, so we're basically doing 2-4. I'm an introvert so I can't say this is fun but...it's not bad at all. The last 2 times I was paired with Tessine and Tessine is awesome. I love her.

Having a good partner on that sort of thing makes all the difference! Speaking as a fellow introvert. As does having a script, probably.

We're doing a Voter Registration Day at the library; can't sponsor or publicly support any specific candidate, but getting people registered to vote, and having the official city registrar out there to help. That's gonna be a BIG day. We were supposed to do it this Fall too, but I forget what happened. We already have people filling out the forms, though.
