1. Today I was supposed to go to a seminar in Chicago. Long story short, there was something my boss was supposed to do to get me registered but she forgot do it, so I couldn't get in. (She apologized profusely. I'm not mad, she meant no harm. And some seminars are boring anyway). So I set back out for home on public transportation. Today was really windy - a very cold, biting wind. Getting back home on public transport involved a decent amount of walking, waiting at a cold L station, and waiting at a cold bus stop. When I got home? Paradise! Hot tea and warm clothes, it just felt so nice. And lunch! Since it was lunchtime by the time I got home. Also, bonus - I don't plan to do any actual work today since: A) I was supposed to be at the seminar, B) Nothing urgent is going on, and C) My Monday is fairly open anyway
2. Every 2 years I bitch and moan about a 6-day conference in Orlando that I have to go to for work. They just cancelled it now, due to Coronavirus. It was the right decision....I don't even know how many people go to this from our company, at least 400,000 I'd guess? Imagine if we had to get quarantined. But apart from that - I am SO glad I don't have to go! Six days away from home is always brutal, as are the long shifts we have to do standing at a booth
3. What else? It's Friday, tomorrow I'm canvassing for Marie Newman, no other big weekend plans (had a lunch date with a friend that fell through), it's always nice to just rest a bit.
