Gratitude and Sad-itude

Good stuff:

1. I still know I'm incredibly lucky to be working from home. There's plenty to do and I'm never bored. We're expanding our online offerings and I'm on that project, which is good for me.

2. The weather's been nice. Didn't get a chance to go outside today but Doris and I began yesterday by taking a walk. We've had nice, sunny days with crisp, cool air like I like. Lots of daffodils coming up.

3. And fanfic is still going great, at 73K words and almost done. I posted the first chapter of the sequel and, sadly, got no reviews so far. But lots of kudos and follows.

4. And something that only I would find fun. I'm going through my show (The 100) and cataloging the first and last scene that each member of my OTP has with every other character on the show. I find this to be strangely awesome and fun to do. So weird. (Maybe the fun is that both are really minor characters, so it's kinda interesting to go "Oh, Jackson doesn't have a scene with Bellamy until well into Season 2....")

Not as good stuff:

1. I used to use the Scrabble app, and my routine was to start my mornings with a cup of tea and a timed game of Scrabble. But the app is going away, its replacement sucks and doesn't have timed games. So I looked for something else. I found an app where I can play Hearts against real people (it's never fun playing against the computer). But....after a while you need to buy coins. I spent $35 on it, and at the rate I play, I'll need to buy again in about 8 days. Am I really ok spending $35 every 8 days on a game?? But....on the other hand, I used to spend that much on public transportation every 8 days. So can I call it a wash? Not to mention the fact that I used to get my hair cut and colored every 8 weeks ($200 including tip), used to get regular massages and pedis too. 

2. The actor (Jarod) who plays the other member of my OTP did a video interview 2 days ago and a lot of fans are taking one of his...vague comments to mean that things don't end well for my OTP in the final season. I'm trying to not push the panic button. Well, can't do anything about it anyway, and we'll always have fanfic....Can't do anything but wait and see really.

We had a daffodil in our yard, but the crazy wind we had last week wiped it out.

re: scrabble/hearts, There have GOT to be other options for you. I assume you've tried playing the timed games on Scrabble and there just isn't anyone else around anymore? I mean, the game won't open for me a lot of the time, but when it does, it seems to work fine. I can see why a lot of people have left though if it's been working for them like it has for me. What hearts app are you using? There's gotta be something out there that's not going to cost you $150 a month.

Daffodils never seem to last very long.

I'll keep looking. Tina told me to try an app called Endless Quiz. The good Scrabble app is completely going away in June so I gotta wean myself off it.

That site that we played Cards Against Humanity on - I wonder if you can just play with strangers.
