One more post on the trip

Just going to take a minute to do a quick gratitude post about this trip. It's Thursday evening, my work is done, and I fly home early tomorrow (if all goes well)

- First, I think I figured out why my stomach was upset on Wednesday. Every day at the con, they give away free food. Knowing I'm vegan, a coworker said "They have lattes with oat milk!" So I had two. And I failed to first say to myself "Uh, remember how you stopped drinking coffee because it hurt your stomach? So why are you doing this?" I think that may've been the main culprit.

So many things went well, so in brief:

- My boss heard another compliment about me today! And again, my team is awesome. I really do like them. My boss texted me this AM to ask how I felt and if I wanted to go to the opening session with her. I was glad she asked, and we did indeed go to it. 

- And I did work a full day at the booth today. I felt I needed to 'make up' for not doing it yesterday, but  none of my coworkers tried to make me feel bad for not being there.

- Due to a snafu, I had to change hotels for this final night. OMG this hotel is so much better than the previous one! I feel like I'm at the Ritz. Also, unlike the last hotel, this one has a microwave in the room so I can heat my breakfast inside my room rather than having to go to the damn lobby to do it.

- Having the cane worked well again. Today towards the end I was so tired I folded it out so it could use the stool. It was good to have.

- It was great to be allowed to skip the evening events. I had a good excuse - after wearing the mask for 8 hours, I was right to insist I needed to go back to my room and lose the mask. Future events, I might not be so lucky, but this was good. No one made me feel guilty for skipping the events. I know that not every team would be so understanding.

Ohhhhh yeah, two lattes when you normally drink none would definitely do that (were they tasty though? :))

Super awesome that your boss heard another compliment about you! (also not surprising that they're complimenting you!)

Glad your coworkers didn't give you a hard time for taking a day off

Too bad you didn't get more time at the fancier hotel!!

And glad that no one gave you a hard time about skipping the evening events. What a relief!

The lattes were so tempting, and they were iced and I was hot....Yeah. They did me in. And my period did finally start too, so I'm sure that didn't help.
