Gratitude

- I ordered a Cameo for a coworker. She's been struggling a bit. The Cameo is with an actor who was in Harry Potter, which she likes. She told me she loves the Cameo.

- And I went into the office yesterday and had several nice interactions, including with my boss' boss.

Fandom and Fic

- After my latest Cameo from Sachin, I sent him a brief note just to say thanks and that it brightened my day. I often send him a short note after a Cameo. He usually doesn't reply, but he did this time, with a heart and a "same, same, Marianne". Awww

- My fandom friend Mia and I put together an outline for another possible fic. We've sat on it for a few days now and I don't know if we'll ever write it, but I'm glad it's there.

- The multi-chaptered fic I've been posting, I officially finished it and I really love it. I still have 3 chapters left to post - next one will go up today. I love that it just came out of a random brainstorm idea with Mia.

- And....you gotta laugh. Decided to write and post a quick Sinclair smutfic, under a pen name. It already has more hits than the above fic! Which is crazy, since: 1) I didn't promote it anywhere, since it's under a pen name and I don't have a fake Tumblr account to use for that, 2) It's one chapter, versus a multi-chapter fic. The multi-chapter one goes to the top of the pile each time I add a chapter, and 3) The multi-chaptered fic has been up for a much longer amount of time too. I guess: 1) People like smut, and 2) I did pair him with a popular character, so that might've helped. Still is funny though

- Someone posted on Tumblr with a "will write for pay" post. (Sometimes people do that. They say they need money, they say 'here are the fandoms I'll write in, please pay me to write something for you'). I've paid more than once, glad to help someone out who needs it and get a fic in return. With this one, I asked them if they'd write something with Sinclair, they said yes please, I made a downpayment. I look forward to seeing what I get!

- Also, I found a gem of a video....Alessandro in 1998 wearing feminine clothing for a role. Of course if this character was supposed to be a trans woman, then for god's sake, they should've hired a trans woman and not a cishet man to play her. But I can't tell from the clip exactly what is going on here. He does look fricking gorgeous though!! I've never seen him wearing femmy clothes before. And Alessandro's hot now, but in 1998 he was especially lovely. 

Body TMI

- I got an actual period this week. My last few beforehand were like....Idk pseudo-periods, with just a tiny bit of dark blood. Got a full-on period this time, complete with the horniness I've always gotten before the period and during its first day. I am going to miss this a lot. (All throughout my life, I've gotten really horny right before the period and on its first day or so. Since my periods have been departing, I've missed this).

- Just random wonderings....Why do I weigh myself every week? Why do I do it? On the good news side, I don't really angst when the number on the scale is higher than I want. Just wondering like why do I do it in the first place? Habit? I like to 'check a box' and quantify something? Fear that if I do gain "too much" then my clothes won't fit? Sizist culture we live in? Hmmmm.

How fun to put together a fic idea with another fan!

I mean... 1998 might as well have been the stone ages when it came to representation for trans folks (wasn't it around then that Ellen came out and Laura Dern who played her gf couldn't get a role for a couple years? ok I looked it up, it was 1997). So not at all surprising that they didn't hire an actual trans woman. Sometimes I feel like we've made no progress lately but I have to say that when it comes to media (at least tv shows and movies), I think the past 5 or 6 years (maybe even the past decade?) have grown in leaps and bounds with a lot more representation across the board and a lot less bitching about it (well, there's always going to be some dudes crying about how everything is "too woke", but it doesn't feel like it's as overwhelming as it once was). Plus in the last few years there have been a lot more options for shows (lots of streaming services having their own lineup of shows and movies). Of course that also means that more shows don't get fully off the ground like maybe they could have if there weren't so many options, but it just feels like things are moving the right direction.

I haven't had a period in a very very long time. I did have a couple of pseudo-periods like you were talking about, but I think it's been at least a year. Maybe more. I see Dr. Murray in December.

Well, as long as weighing yourself doesn't stress you out or make you feel crappy about yourself, I don't think there's any harm in checking in. I mean, you've been doing it weekly most of your life, right? And if something happened like you suddenly starting gaining or losing a lot of weight, that might be a sign to go get some bloodwork done or something.

Totally agree, 1998 was the stone ages and so much progress has happened since then. Alessandro does look lovely done up in a dress and makeup and jewelry. :) And I'm gonna officially say that since he's played a queer character more than once and since he's an educated guy who lives in Vancouver who also sings and composes music and does theater that he is not homophobic. (But who knows? I guess he still might be. But probably not, I mean he's working in the arts a lot. Oooh and I guess he played a character named L in Death Note and has said that L could be queer, which is what a lot of fans wanted.)

Do you miss periods or no?

I feel like if he was homophobic, he would probably avoid doing more than one role where he was a queer character. Though I suppose getting a role is so important. Really though, like you said, he's an educated guy, he works in the arts, it certainly seems like it would be unlikely that he would be homophobic.

I don't miss my period at all. The only 'symptoms' i ever had with them was getting extra anxious/stressed right before it arrived, like I needed any help in that direction!! I do have a suspicion that the extra weight I gained during Covid is probably part of the reason it's stopped, so I think it's possible it might start up again
